The Synergy of my Career Evolution as Zoologist, Toxicologist, Ecologist, Environmental Biologist, Conservationist & Plant Tissue Culturist...

Life have been said to be in phases...

What a child eventually becomes in life is an intertwined rays of the different exposure from Birth.

Right from Childhood, I have been raised to love the different living biota within my environment.

My father loves raising domestic faunas / animals and i can call our house 'The Mini Pet Zoo'.

We had animals ranging from house cat, dogs, pigeon, duck, chicken, pigs, goats, sheep, snail, fishes etc.

This woke in me the relational passion i had for animals and it was not surprising I chose to study Zoology at the University.

Then, my mother is another flora / plant lover. She love gardening and she grew all types of plants in our house garden. This range from papaya, orange, guava, tomato, different leafy vegetables, chilli, yam, corn, coco-yam just to mention a few. Gardening was not difficult for me as it was what I see my mum do day in day out.

As a child, I knew the importance of certain medicinal vegetables like bitter leaf, scent leaf, lime/lemon, lemon grass etc. I could say that arose the inquisitive passion of wanting to know how this plants work medicinally in me; hence my journey to toxicology as my B.Sc. Project study.
From these two experiences narrated above came the passion to know how we living organisms relate with our environment. The environment of man has so many components that makes living a delight for humans... well, stream, river, oceans and rain all gives us water; soil gives support to plants from which we get food; we breathe in and out air from the space around us... how? was what lead me to ecology and environmental biology.

Being passionate about nature and not wanting anything to affect the balance which i have so much enjoyed from childhood,

I took the offer when given the privilege of being a conservation scientist in the NATIONAL CENTRE FOR GENETIC RESOURCES AND BIOTECHNOLOGY where i learnt the art of using the in vitro technology of plant tissue culture as a medium term conservation tool, which also has the other benefits among which are mass production of elite crop, production of disease free planting materials etc.

Hmm... as we can see, all my career journey began from the passion my parent birthed in me by doing what they love and being my role model.

Thanks dad and mum for bringing out these different parts of MEE.
